Osteopathic Treatment for Babies & Kids

$150.00

Osteopathic treatment for Babies & Kids (aged 0-16)

Treatment for Newborns

The birth process is one of the most physically demanding events we experience, for both moms and babies! As the baby passes through the birth canal, the soft bones of the skull often overlap due to the contractile forces of the uterus. This natural “molding” usually resolves on its own through feeding and crying in the days following birth. However, in some cases, these strains remain.

Certain birth factors can increase the likelihood of unresolved strain, such as:

  • Abnormal fetal positioning during pregnancy, breech or face presentations

  • Difficult, rapid deliveries, premature births or cesarean deliveries

  • Interventions including forceps, vacuum-assisted and inductions.

Some common infant symptoms, where Osteopathy can help include:

  • Reflux & colic type symptoms

  • Difficulty feeding & latching, tongue and lip tie support

  • Irritability, uncomfortable or unexplained crying, poor sleep

  • Constipation

  • Head shape and neck tension

Treatment for Children

As the child grows, unresolved strains from birth or new ones from everyday life may lead to abnormal tension in the body. Osteopathy works with the body’s natural drive toward health and wellbeing. This drive is strong in children and they often respond well to Osteopathic treatment. Resolving strains in children can help prevent further problems from developing at a later age or in adulthood.

Osteopathy may be helpful to treat those children with symptoms including:

  • Tip toe walking, “W” sitting, scoliosis, growing pains or other postural imbalances

  • Congestion, mouth breathing, ear infections

  • Digestive issues like constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach or bladder and bowel control

  • Learning difficulties like ADHD, focus and memory issues

  • Concussion therapy, falls, injuries, sports-related strains, headaches, anxiety and stress

CURRENT FEE SCHEDULE FOR OSTEOPATHY:

New Patient Assessment: $150.00
45 Minute Follow Up Treatment: $130.00
30 Minute Follow Up Treatment: $100.00

*** All prices include 13% HST (for Ontario)
